A class in bojagi, the Korean art of wrapping. You work with silk and naturally dyed hanji — Korea's traditional mulberry paper — to finish a wrapping cloth of your own.
After a short look at where hanji and bojagi come from, you practise the basic knots and then complete the piece. The pace is set so that a first-timer finishes one work within the session.
Your finished piece goes home with you, and we will wrap it as a gift if you would like.
- All materials and tools
- Drinks and an apron
- One finished piece (option of your choice)
- Small groups of up to 6
- Second floor of the Bukchon studio
Nothing to bring. Come in clothes you can move in.
You may reschedule once, free of charge, up to 3 days before your booking. If the studio cancels, you are refunded in full. The class takes place at Bukchon Hanji Studio, 2F, 18 Bukchon-ro 11-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
Time spent feeling the grain of the paper under your fingertips. The teaching was unhurried, so it was easy even as a beginner.
The space itself is beautiful. It can feel a little tight when the group is full, though.
